What sort of plants are best for your purpose? 'Waterwise Plants for Perth Gardens' is a fantastic resource sponsored by the Water Corporation and developed by John Colwill with help from Western Australian wholesale plant growers. This online database enables you to search an ever growing list of plants based on a range of criteria, such as growth habit, garden type, flower colour and so on. The plants listed are those that, once established, will flourish on one watering a a week or less during summer. You will be amazed how many visually stunning Waterwise plants there are available.

Great Gardens in partnership with Skills Strategies International were funded under the Australian Flexible Learning Frameworks to develop an innovative way of bringing environmental sustainability to Western Australians via the internet.

This resource area will continue to expand with the knowledge and skills that have been acquired. Please let us know what topics and segments you would like added to the database.

We ask also that you visit our social network area where you can talk with other like minded people about a wide range of issues.
